As golf’s biggest stars gear up for the US Open in Brooklyn this week, basketball’s biggest show could end just six miles from TD Garden.

The two events will be a great sports Thursday for the city of Boston as the US Open kicks off and Game 6 of the NBA Finals takes place with the Boston Celtics taking on the Golden State Warriors.

Many of basketball’s biggest stars enjoy the game of golf, and Keegan Bradley, an ardent Celtics fan, will be just one of the top title contenders on the hardwoods.

“I’m definitely biased in this regard, but I think Boston is the best sports city in the world – or at least in the country,” Bradley said at Wednesday’s pre-tournament press conference. “They are [the fans] so good at sports.

“Especially basketball, football, baseball and hockey, but they are going to be loud and they have a sixth game. could have fun with all these sporting events! Indeed, very cool.”

Thursday night’s standoff is one where the Celtics can win or go home after a 104-94 loss in San Francisco on Monday despite Golden State superstar Stephen Curry failing to find a 3-pointer for the first time in 233 games. they lose 3-2 in a best-of-seven series.

Boston will need to win tonight and again in Game 7 in California on Sunday to become NBA champions for a record 18th time, with reigning US Open champion John Rahm admitting it will be tough for the Celtics in the coming days task.

When asked to predict how today’s competition will go, Ram told the media at his press conference, “I think I have to be careful what I say about this in Boston!

“It’s hard now after they [Celtics] lose 3-2 and know the game is 7 in [Chase Center]. Especially knowing that the Warriors won with Steph. [Curry] With the day off, it’s just hard to imagine the Celtics doing it twice in a row when one of them is away.

“I would love to see the Celtics win. I went on vacation to Cabo with my family and when we landed Jason Tatum’s family was there. He trained and prepared for the season, but part of his family was there.

“We FaceTimed a bit so I wish he would win, but I just like to watch good basketball and hope the best team wins.”

The sporting double header follows MLB nights in the city, with Bradley among the stars of the PGA Tour at Fenway Park on Tuesday night and throwing the first pitch ahead of the Boston Red Sox’ victory over the Oakland Athletics.

Huge crowds are expected at The Country Club this week, and many of those spectators will then make the short trip into town to fill Boston’s many sports bars for an NBA game.

“I think the fans in Boston are some of the best in the sport,” Phil Mickelson said ahead of his latest Grand Slam bid. “I think they have given me a lot of support and I am very grateful for that over the years. I think their enthusiasm and energy creates such a great atmosphere.”

“Regardless of whether it is positive or negative towards me directly, I think it will create an incredible atmosphere for this [US Open] championship. I think it’s going to be a big event and people here are very much involved in it.”

Sky Sports is once again home to the US Open, with over 40 hours of live coverage over the four days of the tournament and plenty of additional tournament programming throughout the week.

Lighting starts at 13:00 for the first two rounds and 16:00 on Saturday, with action starting at 14:00 on the final day. Extended highlights will be available each morning, with clips and highlights available on Sky Sports’ digital platforms.

Every game of the NBA Finals is streamed live on Sky Sports: Watch Golden State Warriors @ Boston Celtics – Game 6 live on Sky Sports Arena and Main Event Thursday night from 1:45 AM.

Replays will be available on the mornings after games, and if the NBA Finals moves to Game 7, the decider will be broadcast live at Sky Sports Arena and in the main event on Sunday night at 12:45 p.m.
