Netflix movies to watch on Father’s Day 2022
Project Adam (2022)
Project Adam The perfect movie to watch on Father’s Day. The sci-fi film was directed by Shawn Levy from a screenplay co-written by Jonathan Tropper, T. S. Nowlin, Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levine. The story follows a time-traveling fighter pilot who accidentally travels to the year 2022 and enlists the help of his 12-year-old self to go on a mission to save the future. But in order to successfully complete his mission to save the world, the time-traveling pilot must also team up with his late father, who has more information.
Ryan Reynolds plays Adam Reed, the time-traveling pilot, and Walker Scobell plays young Adam Reed. The rest of the cast includes Mark Ruffalo, Jennifer Garner, Catherine Keener and Zoe Saldanha. Although the film is about time travel, watching the relationship between the older and younger Adam Reed and their father was very touching. I believe that many people will be able to understand the dynamics of the Reid family. So be sure to add Project Adam to your Father’s Day watchlist ASAP!
Father of the Year (2018)
Father of the Year it may have come out in 2018, but it’s definitely one of those movies you can always go back to and rewatch, and what could be better than Father’s Day. In the comedy film, David Spade plays a dumb and reckless unemployed man named Wayne who ends up causing problems for his son Ben by taking a bet too seriously. It all starts with Ben and his best friend Larry making a bet that their fathers can beat each other in a fight. What should have been a silly bet turns serious when Wayne shows up at Larry’s father’s doorstep, ready to fight. Due to Wayne’s reckless actions, Ben loses his job and the relationship collapses.
If you are looking for something funny and light to watch with your dad, Father of the Year should definitely be on your watchlist for the night.
Paternity is a drama film directed by Paul Weitz and written by Weitz and Dana Stevens. This is an adaptation of a memoir called Two Kisses for Maddie: Memories of Loss and Love Matthew Logelin. The story follows a widowed father named Matthew who struggles with grief and how to raise his daughter after the unexpected death of his wife. Kevin Hart stars in the title role and has received praise for his performance. The rest of the great cast includes Melody Heard, Alfre Woodard, Lil Rel Howery, DeWanda Wise, Anthony Carrigan, Frankie R. Faison and Paul Reiser. This movie is more serious, so we recommend saving it for the last movie of the evening.
Yes Day (2021)
Yes Day The perfect movie to watch on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day! The story follows parents, Allison and Carlos, who decide to give their children a day where they can make the rules. Within 24 hours, parents must answer “yes” to the most daring requests of their children. Obviously, allowing children to do whatever they want can only end in one way: total mayhem. Jennifer Garner and Edgar Ramirez play Allison and Carlos, respectively. Jenna Ortega, Julian Lerner and Everly Carganilla play Allison and Carlos’ children. We highly recommend watching Yes Day with father on Father’s Day. I promise he will laugh throughout the movie.
Fuss premiered June 3 on Netflix, and the streamer is clearly doing well. As of June 15, it is ranked #1 on Netflix’s Top 10 Movies list. In the sports drama film, Adam Sandler plays an unsuccessful basketball scout named Stanley who discovers a talented streetball player in Spain. Hoping to return to the NBA, Stanley ends up bringing the basketball player to the US without his team’s approval.
While the film is mostly about Stanley and his attempts to resurrect his career, viewers can also see the dynamic with his daughter, Alex. Due to his job, Stanley hardly spends time with his daughter and has missed several of her birthdays. However, Stanley does his best to maintain a good relationship with his daughter, making up for lost time when he can. We give Fuss 10/10 and let’s say it’s one of the first movies you watch on Father’s Day.
