Today, June 18thThe highly anticipated Korean drama series “Alchemy of Souls” has finally premiered its first episode on tvN and worldwide via Netflix.
The new fantasy romance show certainly has high hopes that it will live up to expectations as it has taken over a very important Saturday night programming block in South Korea.
While many young actors would collapse under the pressure, fans can rest assured that the Alchemy of Souls cast is about to bring unforgettable adventures – but how do you know them?
Meet the cast of Alchemy of Souls
Jang Wook is known as a troublemaker, but his luxurious life as the son of a nobleman is not without stress as rumors of a scandalous birth spread among the populace. Even though he looks calm, he has big plans for the future and especially for the evil that power can bring.
Mu-dok is a powerful spirit of an ancient assassin, but is currently stuck in the body of a blind woman. Although she apparently has an instant bond with Chang Wook, she doesn’t take a hit when she agrees to train him in hand-to-hand combat.
Seo Yul, on the other hand, is cheerful and optimistic. As the sole heir to an incredible fortune, he’s more focused on living life to the fullest by breaking up and keeping up with the latest business rumors.
Lee Jae-wook as Chang-wook
Lee Jae Wook is a South Korean actor from Seoul who is widely regarded as one of the fastest rising stars in the Korean drama industry, having only made his professional debut in 2018.
He first appeared in Memories of the Alhambra as Marco Khan (2018–19) before acting in The Battle of Jangsari (2019) and Search: WWW (2019). The 24-year-old’s big break came later that same year when he played Baek Kyung in the movie Extraordinary You, a role that won Best New Actor at the MBC Drama Awards and Rookie of the Year at the Asia Artist Awards.
Later, he will play one of the two main roles in the hugely popular TV series Do Do Sol Sol La La Sol (2020) and also make cameo appearances in True Beauty (2020), Move to Heaven (2021) and Kiss Six Sense (2022).

Jeon So-min as Moo-deok
Jeon So Min is also from Seoul, South Korea and is a veteran of the Korean drama industry compared to Jae Wook after her debut in 2010 despite being only 33 years old.
She gained worldwide fame after her roles in the films Bad Boy and Playful Kiss, which both premiered in 2010. She will then appear in films such as D-Day (2015), Whatever Happened to Secretary Kim (2018) and Fatal Man (2019). ), to a major breakthrough role as Han Woo-joo in the hit medical drama Soul Mechanic (2020).

Hwang Min-hyun as Seo Yul
Finally, we have Hwang Min Hyun, aka Minhyun, a singer, songwriter, and actor from Busan. Minhyun rose to fame as a member of South Korean boy band NU’EST and then Wanna One after appearing on Produce 101.
Despite a fantastic musical career, the 26-year-old is still relatively new to the TV and film industry. He made his acting debut in the Japanese film Their Distance (2015) as Nam Sang-soo and his performance in the musical production of Marie Antoinette earned him the Best New Actor award at the 2019 Stagetalk Audience Choice Awards.
However, it wasn’t until his performance as Go Eun Taek in Live On (2020-21) that he truly became mainstream.
