19 June – Calvin Ramsay arrives from Aberdeen.

Well-respected right-back Calvin Ramsay, 18, arrived from Aberdeen in a deal reportedly worth $8 million. Ramsey was wanted by many Premier League clubs, but Liverpool’s pull was too strong, and given Jurgen Klopp’s background in nurturing young talent (Harvey Elliott, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones, to name but a few), the move has great meaning.

“Obviously there is a path here, which is one of the reasons I chose it. It’s not just a big club, they give young players a chance to get into the first team,” Ramsay said.

“So if I can come into the preseason, give my mark, then there is no reason why I can’t aim to get into the first team.”

Ramsay has been a sensation for Aberdeen in the Scottish Premier League and is already a Scottish Under-21 international. He won’t have a job to replace TAA on the right flank of the defense, but perhaps his arrival will allow Alexander-Arnold to move forward or even play in central midfield? (Japan)

With Sadio Mane set to leave and Mohamed Salah’s future in doubt, Klopp may need to step up that attack this summer.
