What could be better than a cup of coffee and the latest transfer news? Tune in as CBS Sports brings you the latest news from around the world and what it means to your favorite teams. Newly promoted Nottingham Forest are close to their first signing of the summer, with Jose Mourinho continuing to rebuild Roma. Elsewhere in Italy, Inter Milan are buying Milan Skrinar as a possible sale to balance the books so that Romelu Lukaku can return.

Let’s move on to transfers:

In a six yard box

The loudest transfer stories of the day. These are deals that are happening, or at least on the verge of being made.

Nottingham Forest are close to signing their first summer contract with Taiwo Avoyi.

According to John Percy, Tricky Trees will have a lot of work to do after returning to the Premier League and could start their business with striker Union Berlin. He scored an impressive 15 goals, sixth in the Bundesliga. Comfortably playing for another forward, Avoyi will be familiar with Steve Cooper’s setup, as Union Berlin played most of their matches in a similar 3-5-2 formation to that used by Cooper’s team. It’s likely that linking up with Brennan Johnson could be a huge win for only £17.5m.

Forest likely won’t stop there as they look to add Mainz centre-back Moussa Niakate but with Dade Spence likely not returning they could end up taking on Fulham for Liverpool’s Neko Willams . These are important days for the newly promoted team as pre-season begins soon.

Entrance to the penalty area

These transfers may be unavoidable, but there’s a lot of transfer fire in all the smoke these players and teams can blow.

Roma close to signing Zeki Celik

Roma have been looking for a right-back to join their rotation on the cheap and it looks like they will find their target at Celica as Lille look to raise funds again this summer. Gianluca DiMarzio said Roma are close to having Lille value the Celica at €8m and are also willing to include a future sale clause in the deal to close the gap. After scoring two goals and providing three more assists last season, Celik is progressing better than he is credited with averaging a key pass over 90 minutes of his career. He is also firmly on the ground, fighting for possession of the ball, which will help improve Roma as Jose Mourinho looks to return the club to the Champions League contenders.

Building up the game

These steps may be speculative, but they need to be monitored.

Could the Spurs cool off after reuniting with Christian Eriksen?

According to Football London, Spurs contacted Eriksen’s camp a few weeks ago about a possible reunion, but they haven’t responded since. During this time, Spurs added Yves Bissum to their midfield ranks and could focus on other targets. The list of potential Eriksen fans is also growing by the day, with Manchester United, Everton, Newcastle, Leicester and Brentford getting contacts from the Eriksen camp. According to the report, Ajax and the La Liga team have also reached out to us. It’s impressive that Eriksen will have a next destination choice when he was in doubt if he would ever play football again after suffering an on-field cardiac arrest for Denmark last summer during the Euros, but that’s what one goal and four assists in over 11 matches would be enough while he also controlled the game from deep for Brentford. However, while he has options, the door could close before returning to the Spurs.

PSG raise price for Milan Skrinjar

With Inter Milan looking to get Romelu Lukaku, they will have to sell someone and it looks like it will be Skrinjar with PSG around the centre-back. The Parisians raised their bid to 60 million euros plus surcharges. Inter are already planning their next move as they look to add reigning Serie A defender of the year Gleison Bremer from Torino. Bremer wants to play in the Champions League and PSG want to improve their defence. Skrinjar is certainly a luxury signing for PSG, but with no entry for new attacking players thanks to the return of Kylian Mbappe alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar, exactly what else PSG are going to spend their money on.
