Chelsea transfer news live today!

June 19 – Chelsea want to sign Raheem Sterling.

The Blues are entering the transfer market and our UK partners report on Sky Sport says Chelsea want to sign Raheem Sterling. City will need more than $73 million to let Sterling go this summer, according to the report. The England striker, just 27, is out of contract next summer and looks set to move to another club this summer.

Will this be a good move for Chelsea and Sterling? It looks like a good option and if Chelsea can get the price down a bit, they’ll go all in for the pound sterling. However, City could be selling to a potential title challenger, so they would need a large transfer fee.

Sterling is not really a total winger and Tuchel doesn’t like to play with pure wingers in his 3-4-2-1 system. He would be very good on the left of two strikers under the centre-forward, and he loves to get inside and wreak havoc. Despite having a bad reputation for missing out on big chances, Sterling has still scored 62 goals in all competitions for Manchester City over the last three seasons. That’s 20 goals in a season and Chelsea need someone like that in their offensive line as Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech have struggled to stay fit and fit. With the arrival of Erling Haaland this summer at City, Sterling may well be in contention for playing time this season at City and has been in and out of the team for the past 12 months. According to the report, he could have played at Chelsea centre, and Tuchel is said to be a big Sterling fan. Add to all this the fact that Sterling grew up in west London and his family connections are in the area and it all makes sense, right? (Japan)

June 11 – USMNT goalkeeper Gabriel Slonin pursued by Chelsea, Real Madrid.

A potential deal for 18-year-old USMNT goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina is coming at “important hours” as Chelsea and Real Madrid are the frontrunners to sign him, Fabrizio Romano said. The Chicago Fire goalkeeper has been a target for Chelsea for many months and now that they have figured out their property situation, they may try to sign players again.

Should Slonina go to Real or Chelsea? He does not intend to play regularly for either team, but this will allow him to develop alongside some of the best goalkeepers in the world, as well as go on loan to Europe to gain valuable experience. (Japan)

June 10 – Four players, along with Antonio Rudiger, leave Chelsea as free agents.

Andreas Christensen, Charlie Musonda, Danny Drinkwater and Jake Clark-Salter left Chelsea as free agents. With Antonio Rudiger leaving as a free agent and signing with Real Madrid, the quartet was expected to leave at the end of their deals. Chelsea have been keen to keep Danish centre-back Christensen but he is expected to join Barcelona this summer.

If the move doesn’t come about due to Barça’s financial situation, Christensen will have no shortage of options. With the future of Cesar Azpilicueta, Marcos Alonso, Romelu Lukaku and several other strikers (see below) unclear, this summer at Chelsea promises to be a very intriguing one. And, oh yes, they also have new billionaire owners looking to make their mark. (Japan)

June 9 – Chelsea may also sell Christian Pulisic, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech.

Thomas Tuchel is set to rebuild Chelsea’s defences this summer, but there could also be a reshuffle in attack as the Blues are reportedly willing to listen to offers Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic.

Surely one of these names will jump off a page on this site. Pulisic, 23, has made no secret of his desire to play and there are plenty of clubs that would gladly give him the opportunity.

Pulisic and Werner are on the CIES top 100 transfer value list in the world and could make a lot of money for a Chelsea club that could also lose the third name on the list: Romelu Lukaku.

Was he really underused last season, and is the same true for Werner? Or Ziyech? Or Lukaku? Here we go deeper (NM).

Jun 8 – Chelsea want big money to loan Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan.

After an unsuccessful return to Stamford Bridge this season, Romelu Lukaku is looking to leave the club again this summer. He wants to return to Inter and Inter would like him to return, but there is only one problem: Chelsea had already invested about $155 million in signing a contract (transfer fee plus first season salary), so they wanted would be compensated (decently) to (not) re-acquire the 29-year-old Belgian striker, even on loan. According to the report from Guardian, the Blues could demand up to $31 million in down payment on the loan, as well as a significant portion of Lukaku’s $21 million annual salary. (AE)

June 8 – Ibrahim Sangareh to Chelsea or Manchester United

PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare has been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea in reports saying the combative midfielder plans to play in the Premier League next season.

Sangaré, 24, has a $44 million release clause and has three years left on his contract with PSV as he moved from then Ligue 2 side Toulouse at the start of the 2020–21 season.

He registered third in Eredivisie tackles last season (95) and third in interceptions (74), scoring three goals on the ball with almost 87 percent. (New Mexico)

Jun 1 – Chelsea remain interested in USMNT goalkeeper Gabriel “Gaga” Slonina.

Report from Goal.com says Chelsea remain interested in signing USMNT goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina. The 18-year-old plays for the Chicago Fire and recently turned down a call-up to the Poland national team to represent USMNT. Real Madrid are also reportedly looking to sign Slonina, who is one of the most promising young goalkeepers on the planet. Will this move be good for the young American? He would almost certainly go out on loan and getting regular minutes is key as he wouldn’t be close to challenging Edouard Mendy for the starting spot. (Japan)

May 31 – Romelu Lukaku may return to Inter on loan.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan’s board will meet Lukaku’s representatives today. He claims that Lukaku “dreams of returning” to Inter, but nothing has been discussed with Chelsea. Lukaku, 29, joined Chelsea from Inter just last summer for a whopping $122.6 million. However, after a good start to the season, his form deteriorated greatly and he only scored eight Premier League goals in 16 starts. Chelsea’s attack has been their main concern throughout the season and Tuchel wants to upgrade it this summer as Lukaku, Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic could be on the move. Other sources suggested that Lukaku could initially return to Inter on loan. (Japan)
