
7 new movies and shows from Netflix, Amazon, Disney Plus, Hulu and Apple TV Plus streaming this weekend
We’re back with another batch of streaming tips for your weekend. Whatever mood you’re in this week, you’ll most likely find it here. First, it’s a great week for film releases. In the new Netflix sci-fi thriller Spider Head, Chris Hemsworth plays a prison warden who performs experiments on prisoners. Disney Plus viewers in the UK can take part in the Spider-Man movie marathon. UK viewers can also see Adam Driver and Lady Gaga in House of Gucci on Prime Video.
In the mood for a comedy drama? Cha Cha Real Smooth is now on Apple TV Plus and Good Luck to You, Leo Grande is on Hulu (and UK cinemas). In terms of TV shows, there’s the new thriller The Old Man and the final installment of the coming-of-age show Love Victor, both streaming on Hulu, with the latter also available on Disney Plus for UK residents.

Spiderhead sees Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollett play two inmates living in a near-future facility that allows inmates to shorten their sentences by volunteering to experiment with emotion-altering drugs. They are run by a prison guard, played by Chris Hemsworth. The sci-fi thriller is based on George Saunders’ short story “Escape from the Spider’s Head”. Top Shooter: Maverick Joseph Kosinski, which was his second collaboration with Teller this year.
Love, Victor Season 3 – Hulu/Disney Plus

The third and final season of Love Victor hits Hulu in the US and Disney Plus in the UK this weekend, with all eight episodes streaming at once. Michael Cimino returns as Victor, and in the final chapter of the coming-of-age story, the protagonist and his friends struggle with life – and their love lives – after school. It starts right after the cliffhanger at the end of Season 2, when we learn the outcome of Victor’s big decision.
House of Gucci – Prime Video

House of Gucci, Ridley Scott’s camp, a soapy take on true crime, sees Lady Gaga play Patricia Reggiani, the wife of Adam Driver’s Italian fashion house boss Maurizio Gucci. Based on the book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed, the film is about the Gucci murder – Reggiani was tried and found guilty of orchestrating his murder in 1995. Al Pacino, Jared Leto, Salma Hayek and some dubious Italian accents also star.

If you’re in the mood for a marathon of spider movies, you’re in luck. Spiderman 2002, Spiderman 2, The Incredible Spiderman, The Amazing Spider-Man 2as well as Spider-Man: Homecoming everyone is coming to Disney Plus in the UK this weekend, which means you can choose Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield or Tom Holland as everyone’s favorite. However, there are still some gaps as the last parts of the Maguire and Holland trilogies are still missing.
